Cyclist Hit

The images are disturbing to me. I don't agree with showing images of blood on the road, its not necessary to the story.

I pray this cyclist is ok.

5:50AM

That's what time I started my commute this morning. 19 Miles down the W&OD, across through some Falls Church neighborhoods, down Fairview Park Drive and I arrive at work by 7am. Even though there are still crossings, stop lights and some unhappy drivers to deal with, the ride in is much less stressful than the drive in. I love commuting by bike.

Coming Back

Since my October injury, getting back on the bike has been tough. Once off the bike for 2 months, I've found motivation to be a real factor. I want to ride, I really want to ride. But I find myself less motivated to make the extra effort cold wet weather requires to ride.

This week has been good. I did a hard ride last weekend on the road, spent a lot of the hill sections OTB. But it was good, good to motivate. Its good to get dropped sometimes so you can use that motivation during the week or weekends when conditions are less desireable. I did my annual winter testing on Tuesday. My power is less than I was this time last year, considering the training time, I'm not too unhappy.

Now I'm motivated, I want my fitness back, I don't want to get dropped and I'm ready to enjoy some racing with my friends!

See you on the trails!

Mountain Cycle

Mountain Cycle is under new ownership. The new ownership replaced my broken frame with a newer model... a good way to start getting the company back on its feet in my opinion.
